Like the existing Android application, the MiWater Windows 8 application will be used to capture and “advice” which covers off new installations, replacements and removals for both water meters and AMRs. A descriptive layout for this is shown in Figure 4.
A clear distinction between this form and the previous Android form is the separation of the Advice Type into two separate fields, one for the Meter type and one for the AMR type. This aligns with the file processing schema (v1.7) described in Task #21.




Some other layout and behavioral notes on this form:


• The whole form will scroll if the information required exceeds the size of the page.
• Only sections relevant to the selected advice type are shown, otherwise they are hidden.
• Multiple meters cannot be changed using this advice – if a meter is a compound meter with a high flow or low flow configuration, they will require two separate advices. This simplifies the user experience for this form.


Like the Android application, this form can be validated to check for errors before saving. An advice can be saved even if not passing validation checks, however these are highlighted first. Some slight changes to form fields are shown on this example and others may be added as required.
