As part of the system list functionality, users have the ability to manage the template structure of emails, SMS’s and letters sent through the leak detection report. As seen in Figure 191, separate templates exist for each communication channel; Email, SMS, and Letter. Each template is further divided into template types and alert modes.
Types of Templates
Template Types:
- Standard Template: This template is used when a notification is sent to a property that does NOT contain a shared meter.
- Shared Meter Template: This template is used when a notification is sent to a property containing a shared meter.
Alert Mode:
- Resident: This template type is used when the notification is sent to the property resident(s).
- Property Owner: This template type is used when the notification is sent to the property owner(s).
Modifying a Template

To modify a template for both email and SMS, select the “Edit” button relevant to the selected template. This will cause a popup window to appear as seen in Figure 190 which facilitates template modification. To view a compiled version of an email template, click the “View Template” button situated in the bottom left of the window. To save the template, click “Save”. This will cause the page to validate the template to ensure usability, then apply the new changes.
To view/modify letter templates, either select the letter template row (to view) or download the template by clicking the icon and viewing the downloaded template.
Once downloaded, you are free to modify the template as needed. Once the template has been modified, upload the template by clicking the icon (will open a standard file upload dialogue).
Upon uploading, the new template will be validated to ensure all fields are compatible with the system, and then the changes will be applied.
