The Add Part(s) button within the Parts Management section of Asset Bulk Part Change will always be active (never disabled).
This button is used for the following operations:
Add brand new part(s) by selecting the product (SAM1: Add New Part)
Add brand new part(s) by copying from another piece of equipment (SAM1: Import)
Add existing (parked) parts assigned on site (SAM1: Refit Parked Parts).
Add existing (rebuilt) parts assigned on site (SAM1: Refit rebuilt parts)
When the operator selects the “Add Parts” button, this will reveal the “Add Parts” modal which is exampled to the right →
Within this modal control, the user can select method for how parts are to be selected and added to the asset and then conduct a search to find the appropriate part or parts.
This process will allow for multiple different parts to be added to the underlying asset, as well as adding the same part multiple times in multiple configurations.
The form contains the following sections:
Asset and Site Summaries - as per other modals in the SAM2 system - Asset info is displayed at the top of the form.
Instructions - Configurable text describing how to use the form.
Add Part(s) From - This section contains the three different options for adding parts to the selected asset. Within the body of this section are three large radio button controls;
Product List (New / Rebuilt) - Will allow the user to search for any product and create a new part against the selected asset from one of those products.
Copy from Another Asset - Will allow the user to select another asset and create new part(s) from the parts that are assigned to that asset.
Add Parked Parts - Will allow the user to add a part to the selected asset that are currently “parked” against the site (or another site)
In response to selecting each of these three options, the parameters / results functionality will be updated.
Apply Filters and Search button - in the footer section of the form is the Search button. Once parameters have been submitted, the results will be displayed in the second tab.

After search has been completed, the “Apply Filters” button will be replaced with a button “Search Again” with the “search” icon .
If the user selects the “search again” button in the footer, this will reopen the “parameters” tab. Also, if the user selects one of the other part selection “methods” this will cause the search results to be cleared and the parameters revealed.
Add Part - Configure New Part to Fit:
Once the Search and results steps are complete, The Add Part Modal is triggered from using the Add Button in the search results.
The Configure New Part to Fit pop up form will know the product or part that is to be added as well as the asset to which it should be added.
This modal can be used to create a brand-new part from a selected product or to reattach a parked part with historic information. The layout of the modal is as per the example here →

Single Part - the form is for one part
Multiple Part - the form is adjusted slightly to include a field labelled “Number of Parts”
