Context - This is a drop-down list that will allow you to specify what you are searching for. The items in this list relate to the dashboards that will be displayed as a result of a successful search. They include:
Assets (Equipment)
Product
Site
User
Clicking the search button (magnifying glass icon) or hitting return (enter) on your keyboard will execute the Quick Search and present the Search results in a new tabbed panel.
Quick Search Business Rules
Depending on the search option selected by the user from the drop down list in the quick search control, the business rules used for determining what search results to be returned will be different. Because only one text field is used in this search control, a hierarchy of matching against database fields will be used. For each search goal, these are defined as:
Assets (Equipment)
Search for PARTIAL MATCHes the asset name
Search for PARTIAL MATCHes for an assigned product / part name
Search for PARTIAL MATCHes for the site name
Search for PARTIAL MATCHes for the company name
Product
Search for EXACT MATCHes for a product part number
Search for EXACT MATCHes for a product material number
Search for PARTIAL MATCHes for a product name
Search for PARTIAL MATCHes for a product common name
Search for PARTIAL MATCHes for the assigned asset name (as parts)
