Water Use
The water use section is intended to represent water consumption using a chart, with similar controls to those which are available to the user when they directly log in to the MiWater Public customer portal. Unlike the previous metrics, the water user chart will directly query data from MiWater via API in order drive the report. None of the data which is used for this chart is cached on the device for a period longer than the current user’s session.
Any change to parameters will therefore result in an API call to retrieve the necessary data and the app will then re-render that data as a chart.
The following describe each of the elements within this section and how they operate:
- From - The “FROM” date. This control functions as a date picker selection control. When opening afresh, the FROM date should be set to “today 15 days”. After being changed, the system should remember this value until it is closed and re-opened.
- To - The “TO” date, formatted as per Figure 33. This control functions as a date picker selection control.
- Period - A select control that specifies the grouping of the data that will be displayed, aligning with the field of the same name within MiWater Public
Chart Data:
- Chart - The chart is driven by the data received from MiWater, using the parameters specified in the previous group. When opening afresh, the default dates are transmitted to the respective charting APIs to provide a suitable response.
Water Use Footer Controls:
- Advance Back or Forward - The footer row has two chevron icons which will advance the chart forwards or backwards in terms of date, keeping the same period and the same number of days.
- Cost or Volume - A tabbed control allows the user to change the values in the chart from cost to volume of water. By default, volume is shown. Changing this field will cause the chart to reload with new data from MiWater, even though its appearance may not change that much, only the axis would change.
- Information Icon - in the footer area, when pressed will show a simple modal-style control containing a text explanation for the report type.
