Attach/ Detach Asset
One asset can be attached to another asset for a period of time for the purposes of tracking production against both assets during the period when they are attached and to create functional separation between the parts the relate to each asset. For example, the rigging associated with a dragline would be associated with the dragline asset, but GET may be applicable to the dragline bucket as a second asset.
Selecting to “Attach/ Detach Asset” via the Operations menu on the Asset Manager screen will open this model →
The details of the form are as follows:
Asset - Mandatory, Select box which contains a list of all assets on site (excluding the current asset)
Date Attached - Mandatory and defaults to todays date
Instructions - Configurable text to explain how to use the form.
Form Footer
Cancel button - Will disregard any changes and return you to the underlaying asset manager form.
Change to Detach mode - will swap over the form so that you are dethatching an already attached asset - see below for more information.
Attach Asset - This will complete the process and attach the two assets
Once an attachment is saved the Asset details appear in the Asset Manager form in the Attached to Asset section
Detach Mode:
If the Asset is already attached to another - selecting the Attach/ Detach asset option from the operations menu will present the form with a “Change to Detach mode” button.
This allows you to swap the form and set a date for the asset to be detached (removed).
Once you have clicked the Detach Asset button - the two assets are no longer attached.
If the asset you are on has no attachment - then selecting Attach/ Detach Asset will only have one option - that is to Attach an asset. (i.e.: there is no option to change to detach mode). see the example here →
Note: All records of the Attachments are displayed in the Asset Manager under the Section called Asset Attachment History.
