Adding Production Data when Assets are attached
The production recorded against a “Primary” asset is also associated to the “secondary asset” during the period when that child is attached to the parent.
You cannot add production data to the secondary asset during the time its attached to a primary asset.
However, you can add production to the secondary asset, for dates prior to or after the attachment period has ended.
You can tell when an Asset is assigned the Primary asset by the P icon in the Asset Information Panel on the Asset Manager page.
When the user is adding production to the Primary Asset (during the time the assets are attached)- the production is applied to all parts on both the Primary and Secondary asset
If the user attempts to add production data to the Secondary asset during the time the assets are attached - they are presented with a message →
If the asset was attached and detached, the log of when they were connected is still valid.
For example: If the assets are now detached and the user attempts to add production data to the former secondary asset for dates when they were attached, SAM2 will show a message, and not allow the production to be added.
It should be noted that production data can be added to the secondary asset prior to and after the assets were joined (or attached).
